We spent yesterday afternoon in the graveyard in Recoleta, one of the posher neighbourhoods. It was peaceful although it is right in the middle of the city and rather sad, as many of the tombs are obviously not loved. It makes one wonder what happened to the families - extinction, living elsewhere, no money left (it certainly took loads of money to build these things), apathy - or are they now an anachronism in today's busy life.
. . . nice place to rest!
