DM 'got done over' or almost, by one of The Mustard Gangs as we were walking back from the Evita museum this afternoon.
He was splashed liberally with pongy stuff but they didn't try and pinch anything - mustard got cold feet - Ha Ha!
It was in a posher part of town too.

Common scam in which a gang works together to have
- one member surreptitiously throw something onto you. Bird poop or something similar - mustard or ketchup. It can be anything.
- one or more members “helpfully” notice it and “conveniently” have napkins or tissues to help you get it off.
- while one or more people is touching you and crowding you, another is lifting valuables from your purse and pockets.
- Then the gang makes a quick getaway before you notice your things are gone.

Sorry to hear of this unfortunate tale. We spend over six weeks in South America in all sorts of areas and felt pretty safe. The only issue we had of feeling unsafe were the ladies of the night in Rio after dark. I had to beat them off with a stick to save my husband... I'm sure he wanted to be saved!
