A bright and breezy beach
...and Gorey Harbour
In the next bay north of us - Archirondel, known as Archie by the locals. A great place for breakfast and the traditional British pebble beach
Along the littoral - this little still life
At the back of Gorey Castle there is this fairyland
Started out - Lost in the Loire... and sometimes, in translation... Now back in Europe…re translation - apart from French, I have no Swiss German, Austrian or Czech – should be fun

How things change
I haven't posted anything recently as things have been a bit hectic.
We are now back in Jersey, having left the Loire. An unexpected turn, but I have to say it is lovely to be in Jersey at Christmas time.
As we left the Loire it was quite foggy and we had some snow too, but nothing like the weather that has been happening in the UK. Unprecedented cold weather for this time of year.
Below is one of the twisted steeples that are found in this area.

On my wish list
This Perfect VW - in of all things a BBQ shop. Not just any old BBQ shop, but one that Catherine took us to in Versailles. So neatly covered in leather...and the bike...and the luggage. I want one.
Hand dipped candles in the background
Had to put these two in - Paris isn't Paris without the Eiffel Tower
A still life in a shop window - such style
One for the Aussies
....and three dogs. Waiting,waiting

Catching up on a few missed photos from Paris
So lovely - but too much to carry back, considering what we already have
In the jewellery exhibition I visited
Might try this at Christmas some time
More cheeky monkeys
Dread to think how much this weighs - solid stone
DEFINITELY too heavy

Two dog night
Here are cousin Ian's two dogs in Jersey. What fine girls they are.
It has been a lot more than a two dog night recently. I have just had a report that Heathrow is completely closed with people sleeping on the floor and -8ºC tonight. The joys of Christmas travel. Here we have a balmy 2ºC with the forecast of a warm 8ºC tomorrow. No doubt that will not last.
For those of you who don't know how many dogs to have on your bed in cold weather, I would like to think the ratio is one dog to every two degrees below freezing.
DM tells me that the traditional Aboriginal amount of dogs is three, which means it is rather nippy.
Hence the band name from the seventies "Three dog Night" for any of you that were into music at that time.

Ursula's significant birthday
This is why we we came to Jersey at this time
Did you spot this chap in the photos above?
At the end of the night.....
...and a wonderful time was had by all
Ron making the official speech
and Ursula saying thank you

As we leave Paris on the TGV
in a blinding snow storm. I leave you with a few snaps of autumn in Durtal in the Loire, DM's favourite spot for photographing the countryside.
It seems ages since we were there - Paris was such a contrast. Both are wonderful
In the station at Montparnasse there lives a tiny fire truck. How sensible!
Our TGV was delayed due to the snowstorm and we were given lunch "on the house"
A good opportunity for DM to use his Christmas present from Catherine
What a star!!!!!
Below is another ad for my favourite "Orangina"
Saucy!
So next post will be from Jersey - we will be there for a week
