AES+F:

That is the name of the Russian group who produce the most wonderful video installations. Those of us lucky enough to have MONA on their doorstep in Hobart, would have seen the smaller video that used to run there, when MONA opened.
This one is the third part in a trilogy and we were told it was called 'Heaven' - however the title in the film says 'The Feast of Maldichio" - not that it matters - not a lot of it makes sense - but MY GOD the images are AMAZING

The images are all shot live action, a single frame at a time and edited together. A huge amount of work!

Unfortunately we have missed 'Hell' and 'Purgatory' which no doubt would have been incredible - but we feel lucky to have seen this one.

The screen is actually 30 metres wide, divided into three and it ran for about three quarters of an hour to music by Beethoven (his 7th) and a couple of Russian composers who did modern bits in between.
